I offer online English language tutoring tailored to your goals and confidence level.
Whether you want to develop everyday communication, improve your writing or practise English for study or work, we can discuss an approach that suits you.
My teaching approach includes language and cultural insights into the following groups: Australian Martu, Korean, Cantonese, German and Gaelic. Experience and induction into these cultures informs my ability to meet you from where you are beginning - with your own first language and culture. This gives my language teaching services the edge of insight.
Online Tutoring and Rates
Tutoring is offered online through Zoom or Teams. The first session is free and includes a language assessment task, a discussion about your learning goals and a mini-lesson based on what emerges through that discussion and your results.
Students are encouraged to learn in pairs or groups, where possible. Learning together can create more opportunities for conversation, shared energy and peer learning. Group tutoring also offers a lower fee per student as the group gets larger.
One-on-one tutoring is available for English as a Second or Other Language (ESOL), Academic English, the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Let me know if your goal is to be able to converse fluently, to compose and deliver presentations, write effectively, improve online content, compose poetry or other.
One-on-one rates are discounted from TAFE teaching rates and are 30% below university lecturing rates. Higher School Certificate (HSC) tutoring is offered at an affordable rate and includes an extra 30 minutes at no charge (a 90-minute session). Special rates are offered where assessed as applicable.
